Eat
Ah, food. I love food. I love food so much I eat every.single.day. Oh, you too? Well, that’s good.
Let me tell you about my family’s lifestyle and eating choices. We do our very best to stick to a ketogenic diet. We have eliminated a lot of foods from our lives and we are really enjoying the results. Some of us are losing weight. Some of us have more energy. Some of us have clearer skin. Some of us miss what we used to eat, and that’s okay, too. It’s a lifestyle change and we are trying to be the healthiest family we know how to be.
It’s important for me to be able to offer my family a variety of food choices. I make a lot of amazing/not so amazing meals at home, but we also really like to eat out. We have had to learn different ways to order our food and what foods work best to support our way of eating. It’s a work in progress, and I just try to set the best example I can for my kiddos.
That’s all great and wonderful, but let’s be real. We travel – a lot. We are at Disney at least 2 weekends a month, so we have come up with a few tips and tricks for sticking to a keto way of eating while we are at there. Dining at Disney was the most difficult adjustment for me. Sometimes I fall off the wagon and sometimes I have all the willpower in the world. Some days I just can’t walk past the dole whip. Or the cotton candy. Or the funnel cake topped ever so carefully with ice cream and strawberries and chocolate sauce and whipped cream and… moving right along…
Let’s chat about food. Bonus points if it’s keto friendly! After all, we’ve all got to eat.
